The FBI Enters Second Life I have written before how Second Life is being used by the Canadian Government to train future border guards. Well, now the FBI has entered Second Life, though for a different purpose. According to Virtual World News the FBI is looking to both recruit new members and get the word out as to what bad guys they are looking for. Right now the FBI is starting rather small – just posting signage around Second Life and having some kiosks. But their intent is to expand this. This is certainly different than the last time the FBI came into Second Life. That was to check out the gambling going on and to ensure it wasn’t illegal. That point become moot when Second Life banned gambling within the virtual world. So, while you won’t see a virtual FBI agency opened up in Second Life just yet, it could be coming soon.
